Fall Play

Development Academy is a weekly program where players can improve in a fun environment with top level coaching.  Each week has a Play Beyond the Game theme with a power statement and thinking cool down so you learn to integrate the life lessons of sports on and off the field.

NEW for this fall: A 1 hour session geared for 1st and 2nd graders. Come learn the game with a special USA Field Hockey curriculum and equipment designed for young athletes.

Mark your calendars! The final play day is on November 3rd! Finish the season at the Madeira School location to show off all you’ve learned, get fun prizes and have a ton of fun!

About all our Fall sessions:

Who: All skill levels, 2nd grade through 10th grade.  We added 2nd grade! Typically we have anywhere from 3-6 different groups on the turf (dependent on numbers):

  1. 2nd-4th graders

  2. 5th-6th graders

  3. 6th-8th grade, Some experience

  4. 6th-8th grade, Experience

  5. 8th-10th grade Little to no experience

  6. 9th-10th grade Experienced

We reserve the right to slightly change teams or move players around according to age, ability and make up of those registered after the first week.  We have had seasons with entire groups of 8th graders, for example, when we get a big group of one age. We do accommodate friend requests, but will put players in a group according to the players with the least experience/ability level.  For example if your friend has never played field hockey and you have but still would like to play with them, you will be placed in the no experience group.

Our sessions all include a Play Beyond the Game Power Statement.  Our power statement is a focus for the day to help our athletes, coaches and parents have a positive growth mindset!
